Wolf Creek Conference in Michigan: Focus on ECPR and Artificial Intelligence

Over 100 experts from the US and further different countries have discussed about the future of the cardiac arrest resuscitation in June at the Wolf Creek Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan. A team of the Resuscitec GmbH has been on-site.

Georg Trummer, chief physician at the Clinic for Cardiovascular Surgery, Department Heart Center at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, presented the Freiburg research and clinical findings on CARL Therapy. Christoph Benk, CTO of Resuscitec GmbH, spoke about the transition “CARL Therapy guides Technology”. In addition to the topics of first aid and qualitative cardiopulmonary resuscitation, two other trends were in focus: the technical possibilities of AI-based diagnostics for early detection of CA and the structured treatment benefits of ECPR programs. Leading hospitals demonstrated OHCA deployment with dedicated ECMO trucks as well as a pilot model via a helicopter ECPR program.
