CARL” at DGIIN Congress in Berlin: Focus on extracorporeal resuscitation

“We are the team” was this year’s motto of the 54th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Internal Intensive and Emergency Medicine (DGIIN) and the Austrian Society of Internal and General Intensive and Emergency Medicine (ÖGIAIN) in Berlin.

This motto was also a topic at the Resuscitec GmbH lunch symposium, which was fully booked with 80 participants. Hans-Jörg Busch from Freiburg and Martin Dünser from Linz reported on their clinical CARL experiences so far and shared their personal tips and tricks in daily resuscitation use.

A CARL Support staff member demonstrates the CARL System to two congress visitors.

The scientific program emphasized the increasing relevance of extracorporeal resuscitation (ECPR), post-resuscitation care, and the interdisciplinary Cardiac Arrest Admission Team (CART). The importance of continuous training was demonstrated by Jan-Steffen Pooth (Freiburg, Germany) in his contribution “Team Training Extracorporeal Circulation – Is it Possible?”.
